The Admission Policy of the Governors of Saint John Wall Catholic School - A Catholic School For All is as follows:

The ethos of this School is Catholic. The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. The school is conducted by its governing body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with its Trust Deed and Instrument of Government and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. We ask all parents applying for a place here to respect this ethos and its importance to the school community. This does not affect the right of parents who are not of the faith of this school to apply for and be considered for a place here.

Application timelines for 2022 – 2023 intake

Return your completed preferences form: We recommend that you complete your online application or return your completed preference form by 31 October 2021  If you wish to view schools that are outside of Birmingham, whose open evenings fall later, you may apply online up to 31 October 2021. If you need to make any changes to your form due to exceptional circumstances, such as you’re moving home, you need to let us know by 31 October 2021.

We’ll write to you with details of your child’s offer: We’ll send you details of the secondary school place we’re offering your child. If you applied online we’ll do this by email. If you applied by post we’ll do this by letter. We’ll send our emails and post our letters out first class on 1 March 2022. Please allow extra time for letters to be delivered.

Let us know if you accept our offer: You must tell the school by 15 March 2022 whether you are accepting the offer of a place.

Make an appeal: If you choose to appeal, you will need to complete and return your appeal forms by 29 March 2022. An Appeal Panel will review all appeals and make a decision within 5 school days following your appeal being heard (this will be no later than June 2020). The Appeals Clerk will write to you to tell you the result of your appeal.

Year 6 Induction Day: TBC.

Secondary school starts: The school year begins in September. Your child’s secondary school will contact you before then with details and useful information.
